The Reverend
Ross Guthrie

Rector

Father Ross has been the Rector of Holy Trinity since September 2019. The Guthrie family moved to North Augusta from Jackson, TN where Ross served as Priest of Spiritual Formation at All Saints Anglican Church since 2015. He completed a Masters of Christian Thought at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in May 2016 and was ordained a Priest in October 2016. Father Ross should exercise more, enjoys Jane Austen movies (see number of daughters below), reads all things Church Fathers, and is a home brewer still dreaming of starting an Abbey brewery.

Family

Ross and his wife Katherine have been married for 33 years and have ten children. Seven of them are adults: Hannah, Nathaniel, Sarah Lovett, Rebekah White, Susannah Joyner, Myrah Ramirez, and Karrah. Three children are still at home: Alaynah (17), Benjamin (13) and Lydiah (10).

The Reverend Theophilus Iwuji

Assistant Priest

The Reverend Theophilus Iwuji was born and raised in Nigeria. After high school graduation, he was called by God and served in Anglican churches as a local and employed junior pastor between 1996-2003 in Nigeria. He later studied at Trinity Theological College, Umuahia, Nigeria in affiliation with the University of Nigeria between 2003-2006 where he obtained an Associate Degree in Theology. He was ordained in June 2006 as a Deacon and 2007 as a Priest of The Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion. Father Theo became a Priest in the ACNA through the Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity, North Augusta, SC in 2013.

Family

He and his wife, Patience, have been married for 22 years. They are blessed with an adult son, Okechukwu Iwuji, a college student now.

The Reverend
Rob Hartley

Founding Rector of the Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity

Father Hartley is a graduate of Clemson University, Trinity School for Ministry (Anglican) and the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, SC. He is originally from the Charleston area where he attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church. Prior to entering the priesthood Rob worked for Duke Power in Charlotte, NC as an electrical engineer for 31 years.
Following ordination in 2003 Rob assisted at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Columbia and was Vicar of St. Johns Episcopal Church, North Augusta, prior to becoming the Rector of the Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity.

Family

Rob and his wife Nancy have two sons, Rob and Jimmy. Rob and his wife Sabrina live in Chantilly, Va. They have one daughter. Jimmy, a priest in the Episcopal Dioceses of Upper South Carolina, lives in Columbia with his wife, Caroline. They have three children.

The Reverend
Joseph Perry

Priest-in-Residence

The Reverend Joseph Perry was born into a Navy family and moved throughout the country for his entire childhood. In 2001, he reported to the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, which he graduated from in 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Arabic and commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. Since graduating, Fr. Joe has continued moving across the country and remains an Army officer to this day. He completed a Masters of Christian Ministry at Abilene Christian University, ordained a Deacon in 2014, and ordained a Priest in the Anglican Diocese of the West (Church of Nigeria) in 2015. He has served as a Deacon-in-Residence at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Key West, FL, Priest-in-Residence at Church of Holy Apostles in Kansas City, KS, and served alongside Chaplains in ministering to the military community at the Main Post Chapel in Fort Riley, KS.

Family

Joe and his wife, Bailey, have been married for 13 years and have 4 children: Reagan, Dawson, Judah, and Hollis.

THE VESTRY

The Vestry is elected by the congregation from its membership at the annual meeting. The Vestry consist of 6 members who serve staggered three year terms. The Rector is also part of the Vestry and presides at the meetings. The Vestry meets monthly to review and guide the spiritual, ministerial, and fiscal life of the parish. In this way the ordained ministerial and the elected lay share the authority and responsibility of the church’s leadership.
